The trattoria's main dining room with its columns and windows looking onto the woods

From lunch for two to a banquet for a hundred and thirty

The trattoria

The trattoria is made up of five spaces: three with table service, one self-service outside the building, and the bar.

The spaces

Five spaces, one kitchen

Each space has its own character and capacity. For groups and celebrations, it's best to call ahead, so we can agree on the space, the layout and the menu together.

Four-legged friends are welcome in covered areas like the terrace, but not in the indoor dining rooms.

The main dining room

The largest space: columns, windows looking onto the woods, and space to seat more than a hundred people in comfort. This is where the weddings, celebrations and large groups happen.

If the group is smaller we divide it into separate areas, so everyone keeps their privacy without losing the atmosphere.

  • Latest-generation lighting, with colour adjustable to the occasion
  • 50-inch TV and a microphone available to guests
  • Also suitable for conferences and work meetings
  • On request we print personalised menus with photos and dedications

The terrace

A covered outdoor space, with an exposed wooden-beam roof. In summer the air up here stays cool even when it's stifling in the city, and it's the first spot guests ask for as soon as the heat arrives.

In winter, over Christmas, the terrace also hosts the Presepe Montano (mountain nativity scene), which over the years has been created by Luigi Fasoli.

  • Ideal for outdoor lunches and dinners in the warm season
  • From December it hosts the Presepe Montano display

The taverna

Carved into the rock on the floor below the main building, the taverna is a dining room used for parties. It has its own entrance from outside, so a group can use it entirely on its own without crossing through the restaurant.

It's the most requested choice for birthdays and private parties, but it also works well for meetings and conferences when a private setting is needed.

  • Its own toilets
  • Strobe lighting for parties
  • Double access: from the restaurant or directly from outside

The bar

A quick stop for those arriving off the trail: a coffee, a snack, a chat at the small tables. Bruno, who opened the osteria in 1957, can still be found here behind the counter.

The counter itself is worth the stop. Inside the stone are real fossils: minerals, shells, prehistoric plants. Forty million years of the Lessinia to rest your elbow on, and for kids it's a treasure hunt that lasts as long as their parents' coffee.

  • Local stone counter with fossils set into it, to look at up close
  • Books about the Lessinia: guides, traditions, mountain cooking, legends. Among them "Il Ponte di Veja" by Mario Patuzzo, from 2011, commissioned by the Lavarini family
  • Pocket map of the Lessinia, given free to anyone who asks
  • Souvenirs from prehistory: flints, ornaments, coloured stones, small fossils
  • One room with small tables and a television, and Italian and imported tobacco on sale

Self-service

The self-service is the most relaxed way to experience the trattoria: you sit wherever you like, no booking needed, in the outdoor area. The area is set among the greenery and has plenty of natural shade, so most tables stay cool even during the hottest hours.

How it works is simple: you pick up your drinks and your meal at the counter, then take a seat at the table you prefer.

  • Free access, no booking needed
  • Uncovered outdoor area, with plenty of natural shade
  • Perfect for those who want to be outdoors even during the meal
  • Active from Easter Monday
